Bio - All About Dawn
Dawn Obrecht is a 32 year
old fantasy artist who resides in Iowa in the U.S. She's happily married
to her soul mate and has 3 beautiful little girls, ages 8, 7 & 3. Dawn
has been painting fantasy art professionally for a couple of years, but has been
drawing for as long as she can remember. She is self-taught and works
primarily in watercolors with some of her earlier works being done in colored
pencil.
Her biggest influences are Amy Brown,
Nene
Thomas, Jessica Galbreth,
Jasmine
Becket-Griffith, Selina Fenech,
Linda
Bergkvist, Meredith Dillman
and all the artist friends she's made along her journey. The list is
ever-growing. You can find more on the Links
page.
Her other interests include reading (her favorite authors are Danielle Steel and
V.C. Andrews), cross stitch, beading, web surfing, and she is hopelessly
addicted to fantasy art forums and her LiveJournal.
Dawn has won a few awards for her art in the past couple of years. She got
a white ribbon at the local county fair in 2005 for The Sorceress and the Fall.
She won first place at the Mystical Moonlight Productions's Fall 2005 Psychic
Event for The Sorceress and the Fall. She's gotten a Moderator's Choice on
The Gift Faerie at Elfwood.
She got a white ribbon at the local county fair in 2006 for Stolen.
